Complicated
Collage as a medium allows Merran to introduce highly symbolic elements into the painting. The textures and multiple layers of both paint and paper all come together to create a unique and complicated work that could not exist using paint alone. The layers are then protected by multiple heavy coats of varnish, lending protection and beauty to the finished work.
